Quno E-Commerce Website Launch

For B2B rail booking platform SilverRail Technologies, Jon managed the UK launch of Quno.com, a new train ticketing website. As content marketing was a key pillar in the marketing plan he created, Jon ran a contest via a microsite to hire the company "Trainspotter" (a train lover and social media buff) to manage the company’s on- and off-page efforts. The plan included educational, informative and entertaining content, depending on the role of each channel in the funnel (from initial search, to consideration, to purchase). For example, the blog was to focus on "rail drama," lighthearted banter that would draw an audience (and prospective customers), with embedded calls-to-action to book rail tickets and/or engage visitors further in Quno site content.

Separately, Jon formed a strategic partnership with SCVNGR (a leading mobile social gaming platform), which was integrated across all social media efforts. To that end, one of the Quno challenges was to "Spot the (Train)Spotter" at any of the 8 participating rail stations. By uploading a photo taken with the Trainspotter, rail passengers would receive a 20% discount voucher towards a booking on Quno.com. Travelers who 'Liked' the Quno Facebook page or 'Followed' the brand on Twitter could get clues about which stations the Trainspotter would visit in a given day, creating daily page stickiness and brand engagement.
